About De Hoop

Crosspoint motivation center

Crosspoint is De Hoop's motivation center. People who are addicted and want to become motivated to follow treatment at De Hoop or somewhere else are eligible for admission to Crosspoint. Crosspoint offers 24-hour care and can accommodate fifteen persons. For people who are addicted to opiates, it is possible to follow a detoxification program, during which methadone use is reduced.

Crosspoint helps people who:

  • Are addicted
  • Are approachable
  • Are willing to sign a living contract including house rules
  • Have health insurance
  • Have no predominant psychiatric problems

Crosspoint may also be suitable for people who have judicial problems, cause trouble in their living environment or who are eligible for emergency admission.

Please note that De Hoop looks at each situation individually in order to decide whether De Hoop is able to provide the care necessary or whether De Hoop has to refer the client to another institution or clinic.

Aim
Admission to Crosspoint is aimed at becoming motivated for further treatment and/or abstinence.

Treatment program
Clients admitted to Crosspoint follow a detoxification program. If they are addicted to opiates, it is possible to be administered with methadone. Reduction of methadone use is started immediately. Clients are educated about admission to De Hoop's therapeutic centers or other addiction care facilities. During their stay at Crosspoint, clients may not leave the premises without a counselor.

Clients rebuild a healthy day and night structure. Once a week, they work on a farm. In addition, household duties must be performed. Physical exercise is also an important part of the program. Clients walk a lot, for instance. Creative therapy is possible too. Clients have sessions with their personal counselor and Crosspoint's psychologist. Furthermore, clients have group discussions on certain topics and will be kept abreast of current events. Smoking is allowed at Crosspoint, albeit in a separate space.

There is a medical consultation hour.

Duration
Maximum stay is three months.

Intramural
Crosspoint offers 24-hour care.

Moving on
Crosspoint is a motivation center. Clients are motivated for further treatment. They can be admitted to one of De Hoop's therapeutic centers or another addiction care facility.

Items to bring along
Before admission, clients will receive a letter mentioning the things they need to bring along for their stay at De Hoop. Most important are items necessary for daily care, enough clothes, an identity card, and the referral letter from their GP.

Admission
On the day of admission, clients are expected to visit the outpatient's clinic. There, an intake session will take place and clients must fill out the forms necessary. They will also receive a treatment plan.

Next, clients are taken to Crosspoint, where they can have a shower. Belongings are checked for the presence of addictive substances. Clients will be taken around the building and a room is appointed. Clients may then choose to take part in the program immediately or to have some rest in their rooms. Furthermore, a doctor is contacted about medication. During the first week of admission, clients must visit the doctor.

Location
Motivation center Crosspoint is located at the Spuiweg location in Dordrecht.

Visiting arrangements
From the second week of admission onwards, clients may receive visitors. Partners and/or children are allowed to visit clients once a week. Visits may only take place after written consent of clients. Prior to their first visit, visitors must have a conversation with the departmental head of Crosspoint.

Admission to Crosspoint is paid for by the client's health insurance company.

Co-admittance of children
Co-admission of children to Crosspoint is possible. Parent and child will have a room where they may reside together.
