 XTC (ecstasy)What is it?XTC is a chemically manufactured drug, which is most commonly used during weekends and at parties. XTC does not only have a stimulant but also a mind-altering effect. Because of its double effect, it is also called a psychedelic amphetamine. XTC is officially called MDMA (methylenedioxymethamphetamine). Hundreds of XTC variations are available on the market, which means that it is hard to predict the precise effect of XTC. XTC is sold in many different shapes and colors. Shapes and sizes give no indication whatsoever about the effects of XTC. Only tests will give a clear indication. What are the effects of using XTC? Due to its mind-altering effect, XTC causes a relaxed and 'floaty' feeling. You have a large need for contact, conversation and intimacy. The stimulant effect makes you feel energetic, alert and clear-headed. You are able to dance all night without getting tired. After a while, however, the mind-altering effect will decrease even if you use more XTC. Withdrawal and risks Even with regular use, no withdrawal symptoms occur. Users run a large risk of psychological dependence, however. Without using XTC, it is no longer fun to party. XTC increases body temperature, which can have deadly consequences.
