Gambling

What is it?
In gambling, there are two core elements: money and chance. Gamblers stake money to certain outcomes of a game. Chance will determine whether gamblers have made the right decision. If so, gamblers will win the stake or more. Knowledge, capabilities or experience play no part whatsoever in gambling. You get a kick out of winning. If you loose, your disappointment increases. You continue gambling until you have won the money back. Scientists have discovered that the human body makes a substance during gambling, which is similar to morphine.

What are the consequences?
Gambling can be very exciting. So exciting, in fact, that you forget everything around you and get a rush. You become one with the game. Gamblers play because they want to experience the rush and the excitement. In the end, it evolves more around the excitement than winning or loosing.

The one gambling game is much more addictive than the other. Gambling games which involve a short time between stakes and results are particularly addictive. Gamblers who stop gambling sometimes really experience detoxification symptoms, such as sleeping disorders, abdominal conditions, head aches and depression. Gamblers can also experience a real craving. They think about gambling the whole day and as soon as they have the money, they cannot resist the temptation.
