Chris: helpline, chat service, and pastoral care for children

Chris offers pastoral care for children and teenagers no older than 18. Its pastoral care consists of a telephonic consultation service and a telephonic helpline. Chris also offers Chris Connect: an e-mail helpline and chat service for teenagers and youth. Chris is part of De Hoop and has a Christian identity.

Chris has a Christian view on man, addiction and addictive substances. This Christian view is derived from De Hoop's mission, since Chris is one of De Hoop's departments. De Hoop's mission is: helping people on their way to a new life.

Chris offers care based on Biblical principles. As a consequence, Christian faith is part of the treatment. Nevertheless, everybody is welcome at Chris! People requesting help do not have to be Christians per se. We do, however, want the Christian identity of Chris and the employees of Chris to be treated with respect.

Eligibility
Chris offers help to all children aged until 18. Chris provides a listening ear and a helping hand for children and teenagers in need. Chris can be reached at any time, no matter what the problem is! Children may do this by calling the helpline (+31 (0)78 6 312 300) or sending an e-mail to help@chris.nl. But Chris has a lot more to offer! Pastoral counseling, e-mail help, prevention projects and prayer support are all part of the daily activities at Chris.

Care offer
Telephonic consultation service
Chris offers a telephonic consultation service three times a week, on Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 11.00 am until 12.30 pm. Children and teenagers may ask for information about Chris or ask specific questions if they need help. They can also make appointments. The telephone number is +31 (0)78 6 315 572. It is also possible to send an e-mail to info@chris.nl.

Telephonic helpline
The motto of Chris is: ‘Whatever your problem is, call Chris.' If children or teenagers are being bullied, have questions about their (sexual) identity, or just need a listening ear, they can always call Chris Connect. Chris may be reached 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. The telephone number is +31 (0)78 6 312 300.

Children and teenagers who would rather send an e-mail, may do so. They can send an
e-mail to help@chris.nl. Pastoral counselors of Chris will ensure a proper answer.

Chris Connect: chat service
Every Wednesday afternoon, from 3.00 pm until 9.00 pm, teenagers may chat with employees from Chris. The chat service is available through http://www.chris.nl/.
