Parent/partner work

De Hoop's parent/partner work offers treatment for partners and relatives of (former) addicts.

Aim
De Hoop's parent/partner work helps partners and relatives of (former) addicts deal with behavior of (former) addicts. It also offers treatment to these partners and relatives if they have become traumatized because of addictive behavior.

Eligibility
People are eligible for parent/partner work if they:

  • Are a relative or partner of a (former) addict
  • Are struggling with problems due to someone else's addiction.

De Hoop will refer people to another program if they:

  • Have predominant psychiatric or substance abuse problems
  • Have an aversion against De Hoop's Christian identity.

Please note that De Hoop looks at each situation individually in order to decide whether De Hoop is able to provide the care necessary or whether De Hoop has to refer the client to another institution or clinic.

De Hoop offers treatment from a Christian view on man and a Christian view on psychological and psychiatric problems. This Christian view is derived from De Hoop's main mission: helping people on their way to a new life.

Being or becoming a Christian is no condition for treatment at De Hoop.

Offer
The care offer of parent/partner work consists of the following components:

  • Individual treatment
  • Group therapy
  • Relational therapy
  • Family therapy

The treatment program will be focused on the client's specific needs.

During treatment, the following topics are discussed:

  • Communications
  • Letting go
  • Parenting and education
  • Addiction
  • Addiction and environment
  • Addictive substances
  • Codependency
  • Boundaries and self-assertion
  • Rejection
  • De Hoop's vision on...

Clients will also hear personal stories from addicts and other relatives and partners of (former) addicts.

Finances
Treatment at De Hoop is paid for by the client's health insurance company.

Applying for treatment
Clients may apply for treatment at De Hoop's outpatient clinic.
