![]() Jackie Pullinger, author 'Chasing The Dragon'On 21 June 2008, Jackie Pullinger was main speaker during the Open Day at De Hoop, where she gave her testimony. Jackie works in Hong Kong as a missionary, helping drug addicts and prostitutes.In Hong Kong, Jackie Pullinger manages a rehabilitation center: the Saint Stephen's Society. This center shelters and helps drug addicts, drug dealers and prostitutes. Many of them become acquainted with the Lord God and decide to live a life free of addiction! Jackie leaves England in 1966 and goes to China because she believes that the Lord God wants her to. She ends up in Hong Kong, in the infamous walled city of Kowloon. There, she witnesses the terrible circumstances under which the residents live. Jackie heads to the walled city every day and tells drug dealers, prostitutes and gang leaders about God's love. But after six months she realizes that not much has changed. She prays and the Lord God shows her that she needs to help people in a practical way as well. This marks the beginning of the Saint Stephen's Society. Jackie visits prisoners, provides food to the poor, provides health care and offers shelter.
