 Her Majesty Queen BeatrixWednesday, the 28th of May, 2003, was a historic day for De Hoop Foundation. On that day, De Hoop Village was officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.Queen Beatrix was seemingly deeply impressed by the severity of substance abuse problems and the amount of work that needs to be done to ensure a successful reintegration of addicts into society. Her Majesty requested to talk to clients as much as possible. That was truly a ‘royal' gesture. From the moment De Hoop started, the wellbeing of clients has always been the first priority. |
